The Virginia Living Museum welcomes spring with a daylong family event devoted to birds. Meet live birds of prey. See bird mounts, eggs and feathers form the museum's collections. Try your hand at building a bird nest and get moving with bird activities on the lawn (weather permitting). Make bird themed crafts and treats for birds. Find out how you can attract hummingbirds and songbirds to your backyard. This also is opening day for the new Children's Play Area and the refurbished Children's Learning Garden. Special activities 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Included in museum admission, $17 adults, $13 children 3-12; museum open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News.
