Historic Jamestown

The rich history of Jamestown VA, the first point of the Historic Triangle that also includes Williamsburg and Yorktown, makes it one of the most historic areas in the country. Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement the colonists founded in1607 in what is now the United States.

Today, Jamestown Settlement is a unique living history museum, where you can see how colonists lived, worked and survived devastating hardships including illness, cold, and starvation. Tour a Powhatan Indian village and learn what life was like in the early 1600’s as live interpreters in period costume present demonstrations of daily activities and events.
